EHS Second At Girls Triangular; T-town Boys Second Out Of Five

CHARLESTON -- Effingham finished second in a girls high school golf triangular Monday at the Charleston Country Club.

Mattoon won the meet with a 179 followed by Effingham 189 and Charleston 203.

Medalist was Mattoon's Blair Powers with a 39. Also scoring for the Green Wave were Marly VanHovelyn 43, Carrigan Hyland 48 and Julia Morton 49. Non-counting scores were Adrien Muchow 55 and Berit Haldorsen 57.

Effingham was led by Ella Niebrugge, Elena Niebrugge and Ella Tuman with a 47 each and Marah Kirk with a 48. Anna Hirtzel finished with a 49 while Marissa Allie had a 56.

Charleston was led by Delaney Meister with a 41. Also scoring were Madelaine Sanders 44, Bailey Wolfe 49 and Jessica Logue 59. Non-counters were Mia Tribble 59 and Maci Babbs 61.

 

At Robinson

The Teutopolis boys finished second out of five teams at Robinson Monday.

Paris won the meet with 162 followed by the Wooden Shoes 166, Newton 177, Lawrenceville 193 and Robinson 198.

T-town's Adam Lustig tallied a 40 while Gabe Schlink, Hayden Jansen and Ethan Thoele had a 42 each. Brody Thoele tallied a 45 and Cole Gibson a 51.

Newton's Gunner James had a 41 followed by Grant Fulton 44, Evan Johnson 45 and Michael Kennedy 47.

The Wooden Shoes are now 11-3 and will return to action Thursday at Sullivan.
