DECATUR, Ill. — Anthony Lechman of Effingham has indicated he plans to attend Millikin University and play golf for Big Blue Head Coach Sam Osborne. An Honor Roll student, Lechman plans to major in Business at Millikin.
"Anthony is a tremendous talent and hard-working young man,” said Osborne. “The fact that he has played our home course, Red Tail Run, during his high school career will be a huge plus for him and us. Anthony has a summer tournament schedule lined up to get him great experience for the next level. He has the potential to come in and compete right away. Very excited for him to be here in the fall.”
Lechman was a four year letterwinner in golf at Effingham High School. As a junior and senior, he was his team’s Most Valuable Player, earned All-Conference honors and was a state tournament qualifier. As a senior, Lechman had a scoring average of 77 helping his
team to a 15-2 record.
Anthony is the son of John and Suzanne Lechman of Effingham.
Wrapping up a very success 2012-13 season, Coach Osborne is looking for a few key recruits to join a talented group of returners on the Big Blue’s 2013-14 team.
Located in Decatur, Ill., Millikin University is one of the nation's leading institutions of performance-based learning. Millikin is a private, residential university serving approximately 2,300 students in undergraduate and graduate programs offered during the day and evening.
