EIU Finishes Ninth, Calhoon 40th

DICKSON, Tenn. - Eastern Illinois women's golf closed out the 2013 season Tuesday placing ninth at the Ohio Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship played at GreyStone Golf Club.
Senior Lauren Williams shot a final round 78 to finish in 16th place with a three round total of 234. EIU's other senior Emily Calhoon, an Effingham St. Anthony graduate, shot a final round 90 to place 40th in the field.
EIU's other three competitors included Emily Fitzgerald in 37th with a final round 84. Tiffany Wolf and Elyse Banovic tied for 43rd with both shooting a final round 85.
EIU shot a team score of 332 Tuesday and three-day total of 1002.
Eastern Kentucky won the team title shooting a three day total of 916. The Colonels had a one stroke win over Jacksonville State, the closest championship finish in the 20-year tournament history. Kristen Dorsey of Eastern Kentucky was the 2013 OVC Individual Champion with a final round 74 and three day total of 223 (+7). Madalyn Everts was second at 225 after shooting a final day two-under-par 70, only the second below par round of the tournament.
