EIU Still In Ninth Place in Conference Meet

DICKSON, Tenn. -- Lauren Williams moved into the top 20 on the leaderboard as Eastern Illinois remained in ninth place following day two action at the Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Golf Tournament in Dickson, Tenn.

Williams fired a three-over 75 to stand at 156 after two days.  Williams is currently 17th heading into Tuesday’s final round.

Emily Calhoon, Effingham St. Anthony High School graduate, shot an 84 Monday as she has shot 169 for the tournament. Tiffany Wolf shot 87 on Monday with Emily Fitzgerald and Elyse Banovic both shooting 88.

EIU’s team score is 670 after firing a 334 in Monday’s round. EIU will compete today, trailing SIU Edwardsville by three strokes for eighth place.

Eastern Kentucky leads the overall tournament with a team score of 608.  Kristen Dorsey of EKU and Katie Rice of Morehead State are tied for the individual lead at 149 (+5). Dorsey shot a two-under 70 Monday, the only under par round of the tournament. Austin Peay freshman Jessica Cathey had a hole in one on the 132-yard par 3, 11th hole.
