Bulldogs Claim Greenview Boys Golf Invitational

Effingham St. Anthony High School beat out 19 other teams to claim the championship of the Greenview Boys Golf Invitational Saturday at Country Hills Golf Course.

The Bulldogs tallied 327 strokes followed by Metamora 334, Williamsville 340, Breese Central 347, Litchfield 348, Auburn 350, Cornerstone Christian 360, Petersburg PORTA 364, Illini Bluffs 381, South County 385, Pleasant Plains 388, Tremont 389, Taylorville 394, Delavan 402, Greenview 403, Illini Central 411, Rochester 416, Jacksonville Routt 417, Havana 449 and Beardstown 456. Mount Pulaski, Virginia and Hartsburg-Emden did not have enough players for a team score.

St. Anthony's Jonathan Willenborg was medalist for the meet with a 77. Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Thomas Chojnicki fourth with an 80 and Dakota Flaig and Charlie Wegman tied for 15th with an 85 each.

Non-counters were Lane Ludwig tied for 20th with an 87 and Joey Trupiano tied for 25th with an 88.

The invitational played in two shirts, 14 teams in the mornign and nine teams in the afternoon.
