St. A Girls Claim Victory, Area Golf Roundup

ROBINSON -- Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed a girls golf victory Thursday at Quail Creek Country Club.

The Bulldogs tallied 123 followed by Robinson 189. Oblong did not have enough players for a team score.

Medalists for the meet were St. Anthony's Ellie Wegman and Lauren Schwing with a 40 each. Also scoring were Addie Krouse 43 and Nina Hakman 45.

Scoring for Robinson were Isabelle Heidorn 57, Emily Heidorn 66 and Amara Bricker 66.

Scoring for Oblong were Daylen Beckes 61 and Cydney Bother 74.

The junior varsity boys competed and finished tied for first with Oblong with a 162 each. Oblong then won on the fifth score tiebreaker. Robinson placed third with 203.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Joey Trupiano who was medalist with a 38, Aidan Tegeler 41, Ethan Karolewicz 41 and Ryan Schmidt 42. Other scores were Grant Kidwell 42 and Cody York 54.

Scoring for Oblong were Jake Smothers and Brendeon Thompson 40 each and Jon Littlejohn and Hayden Johnson a 41 each. Others were Grant Kidwell 42 and Cody York 54.

Scoring for Robinson were Nathan Rich 39, Walker Hethery 52, Daniel Davis 55 and Taylor Maxwell 56. Non-counters were Gavin Bayne 59 and Joe Quick 65.

 

At Vandalia

The Vandalia Golf & Country Club hosted Altamont and Ramsey for a boys triangular meet Thursday.

The Vandals claimed the team win with a 145 followed by Altamont 165 and Ramsey 182.

Scoring for Vandalia were Chase Laack 33, Conner McCall 37, Jacob Schaal 37 and Jonah Beesley 38. Non-counter was Dylan Halford 38. The Vandals are 2-0.

Altamont was led by Kevin Hall 36, Tyler Stonecipher 38, Avery Jahraus 39 and Zeke Rippetoe 52. Non-counters were Daniel McCammon 59 and Tyler Ruffner 68. The Indians are 3-1.

Scoring for Ramsey were Hadley Seaton 44, Griffin Wright 45, Gunner Finley 46 and Charlie Reiss 47. Non-counters were Wyatt Marley 54 and Marcus Hortenstine 64. Ramsey is now 3-3.

Altamont is back in action Tuesday at Oak Terrace Golf Course against Pana.
