LASALLE -- Effingham St. Anthony competed in the Prep Tour High School Boys Golf Showcase Thursday at Seneca's Oak Ridge Golf Course.

The Bulldogs finished 10th in the 15 team field. Hinsdale Central was the champion with 289 strokes followed by Benton 294, Lockport 297, Ottawa 304, Breese Mater Dei 306, Macomb 310, O'Fallon 311, Edwardsville 314, Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin 314, St. Anthony 319, El Paso Gridley 320, Riverdale 320, Normal U High 323, St. Viator 323 and Wheaton North 328.

Jonathan Willenborg led the Bulldogs with a 38-38 -- 76.

Also competing were Thomas Chojnicki 40-40 -- 80, Lane Ludwig 40-40 -- 80, Joey Trupiano 40-43 -- 83, Dakota Flaig 41-47 -- 88 and Michael Martelli 47-42 -- 89.

"We had some good performances for our opening tournament," said Coach Phil Zaccari. "The competition in this event was amazing and our players gained valuable experience. The damp conditions led to some inconsistent putting but overall I am pleased with our performance.

"Junior Jonathan Willenborg played a solid round and the debut of freshman, Joey Trupiano was our final scorer. Thomas and Lane also played well on a course they were not familiar with. We will continue to build on the positives as we compete again on Friday."

The Bulldogs will host Effingham, Altamont and Teutopolis at an invitational at Indian Springs Friday.
