Bulldogs Win Triangular, Area Golf Roundup

On Senior Night, Effingham St. Anthony picked up a triangular girls golf meet over Effingham and Mattoon Thursday.

The Bulldogs tallied 151 followed by Effingham 189 and Mattoon 196. Macy Ludwig and Ellie Wegman both shot a one-under-par 35 to tie for medalist honors.

Others scoring for St. Anthony were Morgan Schuette 39 and NIna Hakman 42. Non-counters were Reagan Westendorf 42 and Cara Hakman 45.

Scoring for the Hearts were Ava Boehm 37, Anna Sigg 44, Marah Kirk 52 and Annie Frost 56. Non-counters were Anna HIrtzel 60 and Ella Niebrugge 67.

Leading Mattoon was Callen Halderson with a 39. Also scoring were Berit Halderson 50, Kenzi Bratton 51 and Xyila Greeson 52. Non-scoring golfers were Piper Sanders 54 and Julia Morton 61.

Seniors honored for the Bulldogs included Macy Ludwig, Morgan Schuette, Reagan Westendorf and Cara Hakman.

 

At Oblong

Effingham St. Anthony tallied a 168, edging Oblong with a 169, Marshall with a 172 and Robnison with a 177 to pick up a quadrangular boys victory Thursday at Glen Oak Golf Course.

Medalist at the event was Robinson's Cole Johnson with a 38.

Scoring for St. Anthony were Thomas Chojnicki 40, Charlie Wegman 42, Jonathan Willenborg and Michael Martelli with a 42 each.

At Casey

Effingham easily outscored Casey-Westfield, 169-199 in a boys golf match Thursday.

Seven Hearts players scored in the 40's. Ryker Schneider led the charge with a 43 followed by Preston Latch 44, Max Woelfer 45 and David Splechter 45.

Those not scoring were Nick Burgess 46, Colby Haynes 49 and Jack Blickem 49.

Other scores were Ethan Ritz 51, Aiden Lockhart 61, Aiden Hanks 63 and Ben Thompson 64.

EHS is now 6-11 on the season and back in action today at the Charleston Invitational.

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis won a triangular boys golf meet at the Effingham Country Club Thursday to improve to 7-6 on the season.

T-town's Andy Niebrugge claimed medalist honors with a 39. Also scoring were Hayden Jansen 44, Ethan Thoele 46 and Bennett Thompson 49. Non-counters were Gabe Schlink 52 and Zac Niebrugge 55.

Scoring for Shelbyville were Gabe Dove 43, Matt Grabb 50, Bo Hilbert 50 and Chance Billingsley 52. Not scornig were Owen Hedderich 60 and Cade Mitchell 78.

Scoring for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg were Thomas Davis 66, Briar Smith 78, Brady Hendrickson 84 and Henry Vonderheide 94.

 

At Ramsey

Altamont claimed a 160-173 boys golf victory over Ramsey Thursday.

Tyler Stonecipher took medalist honors for Altamont with a 37 followed by Kevin Hall 39, Avery Jahraus 41 and Max Runge 43.

The Indians are now 12-12 on the season while Ramsey dropped to 3-4.

Altamont also played girls golf but Ramsey did not have enough players for a score. The Indians were led by Isabella Hosick 44, Kimberly Brummer 51, Megan Wililasm 48 and Olivia Eckhardt 55. The Indians are 6-5-1.
