St. Anthony Wins Girls Meet, Golf Roundup

In a triangular girls golf meet at the Effingham Country Club Tuesday, Effingham St. Anthony tallied a victory with a 166 followed by Champaign St. Thomas More 177 and Effingham 206.
Medalist was St. Anthony's Macy Ludwig with a one-over-par 37. Also scoring were Elile Wegman 41, Nina Hakman 43 and Lauren Schwing 44.
Leading Effingham was Ava Boehm with a 44. Also scoring were Anna Sigg 49, Annie Frost 55 and Anna Hirtzel 58.

At Mount Zion
Mount Zion won a boys quadrangular meet at South Side Country Club in Decatur Tuesday.
The Braves won with 169 followed by Effingham 177, Taylorville 187 and Shelbyville 220.
Medalist was Hansen from Mount Zion with a 40.
Scoring for Effingham were Colby Haynes 42, Preston Latch 44, Ryker Schneider 45 and Max Woelfer 46. EHS is now 4-8 on the season.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis hosted Charleston in girls golf competition at Cardinal Golf Course Tuesday and fell 181-195.
Averie Bushue led the Wooden Shoes with a 42 and was the medalist. She was followed by Abigail Wortman 50, Lexie Niebrugge 50 and Alaina Helmink 50. The non-counting score was a 71 by Josie Deters.
The Wooden Shoes are now 5-8-1 on the season.
At Oblong
Altamont finished second in a triangular boys meet at Oblong while the girls won a dual meet.
Oblong claimed the boys meet with a 156 followed by Altamont 173 and Tri-County 218.
Oblong's Jake Smothes was medalist with a 36. Also scoring were Grant Kidwell 38, Jon Littlejohn 40 and Brayden Thompson 42.
Altamont was led by Tyler Stonecipher with a 41 followed by Avery Jahraus 42, Kevin Hall 42 and Tyler Stuckemeyer 48.
In the girls meet, Altamont won with a 214 followed by Oblong 220. Tri-County had only two girls competing.
Scoring for the Indians were Isabella Hosick 47, Kimberly Brummer 49, Megan Williams 58 and Olivia Eckhardt 60.
