Bulldogs Claim Charleston Nine-Hole Scramble

Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed the Charleston Nine Hole Girls Golf Scramble Monday.

The Bulldogs tallied a team total of 66. St. Anthony was followed by Charleston 73, Effingham 81, Mount Zion 86, Teutopolis 89, Mahomet-Seymour 89, Paris 89, Mattoon 96 and Sullivan 115.

The team of Macy Ludwig and Ellie Wegman shot a four-under-par 32 to lead the way for the Bulldogs. Also scoring were Lauren Schwing and Nina Hakman with a two-under-par 34. Reagan Westendorf and Morgan Schuette shot an even-par 36 for the non-counting score.

Scoring for Effingham, which finished third, were Ava Boehm and Marah Kirk with a 37 for fifth place. Anna Sigg and Anna Hirtzel had a 44 and Annie Frost and Ella Niebrugge had a 55.

Scoring for Teutopolis, which finished fifth, were Averie Bushue and Lexie Niebrugge with a 41 and Abigail Wortman and Alaina Helmink with a 48. Mollie Koester and Sydney Miller also finished with a 48 and Koester earned Closest to the Pin #8.
