Bulldogs Win Own Girls Golf Invite; T-town Second In Boys Meet

St. Anthony won its own golf invitational Thursday.

Effingham St. Anthony claimed its own girls golf invitational Thursday at Fore Way Golf Course.

The Bulldogs tallied 154 followed by Mount Carmel 156, Alton Marquette 163, Champaign St. Thomas More 168, Effingham 171, Charleston 200 and Teutopolis 214.

Medalist was Mount Carmel's Madilyn Young with a 35. St. Anthony's Macy Ludwig was second with a 36 while teammate Ellie Wegman was third with a 37. Effingham's Ava Boehm also had a 37 and Alaina Bowie of St. Thomas finished out the top five with a 38.

Scoring along with Ludwig and Wegman were Morgan Schuette 39 and Nina Hakman 42. It was Senior Night for Jessica Coffin who shot a 46.

Scoring for Effingham along with Boehm were Kennedy Collier 40, Morgan Krouse 45 and Anna Sigg 49.

At Teutopolis

In a boys golf triangular, Casey-Westfield picked up the victory, shooting a 192 followed by Teutopolis 205 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg did not have enough for a team score.

Casey-Westfield was led by Austin and Ramsey with a 47 each and Husinga and Rogers with a 49 each. Non-counters were Hickox 53 and Orrell 53.

Scoring for the Wooden Shoes were Drew Kerner 43, Andy Niebrugge 53, Gavin Meyer 54 and Gabe Schlink 55. Non-counters were Kayden Zerrusen 57, Zach Ruholl 58, Paul Niemerg and Peyton Tegler 67. Non-counters were Gage Wendt 67 and Nick Buehnekemper 71.

Competing for Windsor/Stew-Stras were Wojcik 52, Howard 57 and Reynolds 61.
