St. Anthony Girls Win Invite, Golf Roundup

WINDSOR -- Effingham St. Anthony captured the girls championship of the Windsor Golf Invitational with a team score of 320. Medalist was the Bulldogs' Ava Wegman with a 74.

Effingham finished second with a 322 followed by St. Anthony No. 2 369, Sulivan 404 and Greenville 434.

St. Anthony captured second place in the Windsor Boys Golf Invitational Saturday at Fox Prairie Golf Course.

Hillsboro nabbed the championship with 301 strokes followed by St. Anthony No. 1 307, Sullivan No. 1 315,  Charleston JV 341, St. Anthony No. 2 356, Effingham 259, Greenville 366, Casey-Westfield 367, Arcola 371, Shelbyville 377, Okaw Valley 386, Sullivan No. 2 397, Mattoon JV 421 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 422.

Medalist for the event was Sullivan's Caden Ellis with a 68. St. Anthony's Luke Ludwig finished fourth with a 73 and Nathan Schultz took fifth with a 74.

Teutopolis Wins Match Play Tournament at Salem.

At Salem

The Teutopolis girls golf team won a match play tournament in Salem Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes finished with 21.5 points followed by Breese Central 17.5, Centralia 9.5 and Salem 2.5.

Trophies were also given out to the top individual in each group. Winning individual groups for the Wooden Shoes were  Maddie Hoene, Averie Bushue, Mattie Thoele, Maggie Koester and Macy Vogt.

 

Mount Zion Invitational

Charleston captured the championship of the Mount Zion Golf Invitational "The Cup".

The Trojans scored 199 followed by Central 232, Mattoon 238, Mount Zion 246, Effingham 268, Maroa-Forsyth 268, Centennial 271, Okaw Valley 285 and Clinton 294.

Scoring for the Hearts were: Four Ball: Colby Heaton, Austin Waldhoff 95; Scramble: Aiden Beck, Tate Niebrugge 70; Modified: Ben Donsbach and Alternate Shot: Ryker Schneider 103.
