Effingham Boys Lose Season Opener to Vandalia

The Effingham boys golf team finally got to open their season Tuesday, falling to Vandalia, 180 to 192.
Bryce Dunn of Vandalia was medalist, firing a 41.
Aiden Beck led Effingham with a 42. Three other players shot a 50 to round out the counters; Tate Niebrugge, Austin Waldhoff and Colby Heaton. Ben Donsbach shot a 51 and Ryker Schneider had a 53.
Three Effingham players participated in exhibition; Nick Burgess with a 53, Ethan Ritz a 57, and Gabe Eaton a 69.
While the match was the opener for Effingham, Vandalia improved to 4-2 on the season. Effingham's next action is next Tuesday at Effingham Country Club vs. Teutopolis and Casey-Westfield.
