North Central College women's golf student-athlete Alex Brummer has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Golfer of the Week for Sept. 19-25. The CCIW made this week's announcement Wednesday.

Brummer is the first Cardinal to receive one of the conference's weekly awards for women's golf since the 2011 campaign. This week's award was bestowed in recognition of Brummer's performance at the Aurora University Fall Invitational on Monday. Brummer carded an 18-hole score of 75 at Blackberry Oaks Golf Course in Bristol, North Central's lowest individual round of the season and the fourth-lowest round in the program's history.

Brummer ranks second on the team this fall with a stroke average of 84.0 and owns the Cardinals' three lowest 18-hole rounds of the season.

North Central has concluded its regular-season schedule and is now preparing for the 2017 CCIW Championships, which will be contested at Prairie Landing Golf Club in West Chicago Oct. 5-7.
