Bulldogs Advance to Sectional, So Do T-Town and Altamont Individuals

The St. Anthony Bulldogs boys golf team advanced to sectional action Tuesday with a second place finish in the Mount Carmel Class 1A Golf Regional.
St. Anthony had a team total of 318, just three strokes behind regional champion Mount Carmel, who was playing on its home course.
The Bulldogs' junior Luke Ludwig was medalist for the regional, firing a 72. Also for St. Anthony: junior Ben Strullmyer 79, senior Ethan Rozene 82, junior Nathan Schultz 85, junior Zach Wortman 85, and sophomore Jayden Rios 86.
St. Anthony will advance to the Trenton Wesclin Sectional Monday, October 9, played at Governor's Run at Carlyle.
Advancing along with the St. Anthony team are three individuals from the area; senior Dylan Buenker of Teutopolis who shot an 83, and junior Grant Schmidt and senior Noah Kopplin, both from Altamont, Schmidt with an 84, Kopplin with an 85.
Teutopolis' team finished seventh, while Altamont's squad finished 10th. The top three squads advance to sectional.
Results for T-town were Dylan Buenker 83, Will Schlink 90, Carter Jansen 92 and Jacob Herd 93.
