Bulldogs Win Own Girls Tourney, Area Golf Roundup

Effingham St. Anthony High School won its own Girls Golf Invitational at the Fore Way Golf Course Thursday.

The Bulldogs tallied a 159 followed by Effinghanm 167, Charleston 169, Alton Marquette 182 and Teutopolis 198.

Medalist honors went to St. Anthony's Ava Wegman with a 37. Also scoring were third place Clare McHugh 39, Morgan Schuette 41 and Macy Ludwig 42.

Scoring individually was St. Anthony's Reagan Westendorf who finished fifth with a 40.

Scoring for the Hearts were Abbi Burgess 38, Keira Hirtzel 41, Ava Boehm 41 and Morgan Krause 47. Burgess took second.

Scoring for T-town were Maddie Hoene 46, Allie Niebrugge 50, Madison Magee 51 and Averie Bushue 51.

At Teutopolis

The Teutopolis boys golf squad finished in the middle of a triangular meet Thursday.

Casey-Westfield was the winner with a 178 followed by the Wooden Shoes 185 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 205.

Scoring for T-town were Dylan Buenker 39, Carter Jansen 44, Jacob Herd 48 and Michael Deters 54.

At Findlay

Okaw Valley played host to Altamont and tallied a 180-195 win over the Indians in golf competition Thursday at the Eagle Creek Golf Course.

Medalist was Okaw Valley's Cameron Nickerson with a 43. Also scoring were Austin Harshman 43, Tanner Coleman 46 and Grace Harlin 48. Non-counters were Ethan Macklin 48 and Trey Yarnell 56.

Scoring for Altamont were Grant Schmidt 44, Noah Kopplin 49, Harrison Fitzjarrald 51 and Addie Smith 51. Non-counters were Nathan Hill 54 and Austin Wendling 56.
