Bulldogs Second In Boys, Girls Meets, Golf Roundup

CHAMPAIGN -- Effingham St. Anthony High School finished second in the Sam Wells Boys Memorial Golf Invitational Monday.
Bloomington Central Catholic won with 323 followed by St. Anthony 326, Prairie Central 326, St. Thomas More 339, Monticello 359, Schlarman Academy 374 and Olympia 385.
Prairie Central's Karson Kafer and Josh Kilcullen won with a 99.
Scoring for St. Anthony were Luke Ludwig and Ben Strullmyer with 22 scramble, 24 better ball, 60 individual combined for a 106 total. Dylan Ferguson had a 27 scramble, 25 better ball, 57 individual combined and 109 total. Nathan Schultz and Jayden Rios had a 27 scramble, 23 better ball, 61 individual combined and 111 total.
In the girls meet, St. Thomas More was a 347 winner followed by St. Anthony 354 and Olympia 405.
Medliast was St. Thomas More's Alaina Bowie with a 78. Also scoring were Maeve Kirby 84, Kait Asklund 91 and Sammy Miller 94. Non-counters were Mia Kirby 99 and Cassie To 101.
Scoring for the Bulldogs were Ava Wegman 83, Jessica Coffin 88, Clare McHugh 90 and Regan Koester 93. Non-counters were Macy Ludwig 95 and Morgan Schuette 96.
Scoring for Olympia were Carley Martin 99, Nicholle Shuerman 99, Brooke Dean 101 and Erin Turner 106. Non-counters were Gracee Salvatore 108 and Lauren Aldridge 118.
At Teutopolis
Teutopolis shot its season best as the boys golf squad totaled a 168. But the total wasn't good enough to win as the Redskins had a 164.
Scoring for T-town were Dylan Buenker 36, Jaco bHerd 43, Carter Jansen 44 and Will Schlink 45.
In girls action, t-town also had its best score of the season with a 189. Maddie Hoene shot a 46, Macy Vogt 49, Madison Magee 50 and Mattie Thoele 54. Non-counters were Averie Bushue 55, Maggie Koester 55, Allison Will 60 and Allie Niebrugge 68.
At Fox Prairie Golf Course
Altamont picked up a 187-223 win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg in action Monday at the Fox Prairie Golf Course.
Grant Schmidt was medalist with a 44 followed by Noah Kopplin 45, Addie Smith 48 and Harrison Fitzjarrald 50. Non-counters were Nathan Hill 53 and Austin Wendling 59.
Scoring for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg were Gage Sattler 46, Logan Stremming 48, Eli Howard 64 and Kim Henon 65. Non-counter was Dean Kaufman 72.
