Bulldogs Capture First, EHS Second at Olney Girls Golf Invitational

OLNEY -- Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed the championship of the Olney Girls Golf Invitational Wednesday.

The Bulldogs placed two team members in the top five. Clare McHugh was the medalist with a 37 while Ava Wegman took fifth with a 41. Also scoring were Macy Ludwig 42 and Jessica Coffin 42. Non-counting scores were Morgan Schuette 44 and Reagan Westendorf 46.

St. Anthony had a team total of 162 followed by Effingham 170, Charleston 178, Salem 198, Mount Carmel 208, Mattoon 209 and Oblong 213. Olney, Fairfield, Robinson and Paris did not have enough players for a team score.

The Hearts finished second as Abbi Burgess took second with a 40 while Ava Boehm was fourth with a 41. Also scoring were Morgan Krouse 44 and Keira Hirtzel 45. Non-counters were Lindsey Stephenson 46 and Kennedy Collier 48.
