St. A Third At Robinson Invite; EHS, St. A, T-town Compete At Charleston

ROBINSON -- Effingham St. Anthony High School captured third place at the Robinson Boys Golf Invitational at Quail Creek Country Club Monday.

Mount Carmel won the meet with 323 strokes followed by Lawrenceville/Red Hill 338, St. Anthony 345, Robinson 364, Fairfield 372, Marshall 394, Olney 397 and Oblong 458.

B. Golden of Mount Carmel was the medalist with a 71. St. Anthony's Luke Ludwig took second with a 39-38 -- 77. Fairfield's Stewart was third with a 79 followed by Tewell and Etzcom with an 80 each. Tewell won the scoreboard playoff to finish fourth.

Scoring for St. Anthony along with Ludwig were Dylan Ferguson 45-43 -- 88, Ben Strullmeyer 44-45 -- 89, and Zach Wortman 43-48 -- 91. Non-counters were Nathan Schultz 93 and Jayden Rios 95.

 

At Charleston

Effingham, St. Anthony and Teutopolis competed in the Charleston Scramble Monday.

Charleston won with a 72 followed by St. Anthony 74, Effingham 78, Champaign Central 81, Sullivan 86, Mattoon 88, Teutopolis 92, Pana 93, Salem 101, Mount Zion 106 and Mahomet-Seymour 113.

Medalist was Paige Chappell and Haley Walker, both of Charleston, with a 33 each. Longest putt went to Delaney Horn of Charleston while the longest drive went to Kira Wolf of Mattoon. Closest to the pin was Chappell.

Scoring for Teutopolis were Maddie Hoene and Maddison Magee 45, Macy Vogt and Mattie Thoele 47 and Allie Niebrugge and Averie Bushue 50.
