St. Anthony, Effingham Finish 2-3 at Taylorville Tournament

St. Anthony and Effingham finished 2-3 at the Taylorville Invitational Saturday.

Hillsboro won the event with a 316 team total. 

St. Anthony finished second with a 321 total, while Effingham finished third with a 324 total. 12 teams competed in the tournament at Lakeshore Golf Club.

Callaway Smith of EHS was the medalist for the tournament, firing a 69. Niko Dust and Dylan Ferguson of St. Anthony finished 4-5, shooting a 78 and 79, respectively. St. Anthony's Luke Ludwig was also in the Top 10, shooting a 79 to finish ninth.

In addition to Dust, Ferguson and Ludwig, Jacob Schmidt shot an 85 to finish with the fourth qualifying score. Also for St. Anthony, Nathan Schultz shot an 89.

For EHS after Smith, Matt Linders shot an 82, Ryan Sandifer an 86 and Jacob Sigg an 87 to provide the other counting scores. Tate Niebrugge shot a 97. Linders' round is his best 18 of the season.
