EHS, T-town Win, Altamont Drops Loss in Golf

Effingham High School played host to Flora and edged the Wolves 172-177 in boys golf competition Tuesday at the Effingham Country Club.

The Hearts' Callaway Smith and Flora's Aven Kimmell tied for medalist honors with a 39 each on the par 36 course.

Also scoring for the Hearts were Jacob Sigg 43, Matt Linders 45 and Tate Niebrugge 45. Non-counting scores were Ryan Sandifer 46 and Aiden Beck 51.

Along with Kimmell, scoring for the Wolves were Drew Woodrow 43, Landon Carder and Ty Warren. Holden Kauble tallied a 59 and Trenton Brown a 64 to round out the competitors.

The Hearts improve to 7-4 on the season.

 

At Altamont

Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran came calling and claimed a 187-199 win over Altamont at the St. Elmo Golf Club.

Medalist was CORL's Lucas Wessel with a 40 on the par 36 course. Also scoring were Tyler Fleeman 46, Nathan Ellis 46 and Jordan Bent 55. Non-counting scores were Ethan Boester 57 and Hayden Johnston 63.

Scoring for Altamont were Grant Schmidt 46, Dylan Miller 48, Noah Kopplin 51 and Addie Smith 54. Austin Wendling had a 59 and Harrison  Fitzjarrald a 60 for the non-counting scores.

Junior varsity players were Nathan Hill 56 and Joel Young 59. Girls were Ashley Goeckner 62 and Violet Wendling 74.

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis claimed a victory over Okaw Valley in boys action at Cardinal Golf Course Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes won 151 over Okaw Valley 170. Scoring were medalist Dylan Buenker 35, Braydon Bushue 38, Christian Deters 39 and Keegan Meyer 39.

Cameron Nickerson and Austin Harshman had 41 each for Okaw Valley. Okaw Valley is 12-8.
