Area Golfers Compete at Junior High State Meets

Effingham St. Anthony and Effingham Sacred Heart golfers competed at the IESA State Finals Saturday at Kellogg Golf Course in Peoria.

St. Anthony's Macy Ludwig tied for 19th place with a score of 51-45 -- 96. Regan Westendorf tied for 31st place with a 58-48 -- 106, Ellie Wegman tied for 33rd place with a 56-51 -- 107, Lauren Schwing tied for 43rd place with a 63-53 -- 116 and Morgan Schuette tied for 53rd place with a 66-59 -- 125.

Sacred Heart's Ava Boehm finished 22nd with a 51-47 -- 98, Nina Hakman tied for 38th with a 57-54 -- 111 and Cara Hakman finished 65th with a 77-59 -- 136.

St. Anthony boys competing were Jonathan Willenborg who tied for 51st place with a 47-47 -- 95 and Thomas Chojnicki tied for 71st with a 58-52 -- 110.

The Sacred Heart girls competing were, left to right, Cara Hakman, Ava Boehm and Nina Hakman.
