Effingham St. Anthony finished with a 183 followed by Effingham at 186 and Mount Zion 257 in girls golf competition at the Moweaqua Golf Course Tuesday.

Sharing medalist honors were St. Anthony's Abbie Schmidt and Effingham's Alex Brummer with a 42 each. Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Ava Wegman 43, Clare McHugh 49 and Regan Koester 49. Non-counting scores were Abby Repking 51 and Jessica Coffin 56.

Scoring for the Hearts along with Brummer were Abbi Burgess 46, Keira Hirtzel 47 and Jade Depoister 51. Non-counting scores were Kennedy Collier 51 and Lindsey Stephenson 57.

Mount Zion scores came from Kynleigh Blake 60, Riley Houser 65, Madelyn Lutt 65 and Isabel Shafer 67.

 

At Effingham

In boys golf action, Effingham was a 182-200 winner over Vandalia.

Callaway Smith shot a one-over-par 37 to capture medalist honors for the Hearts. Also scoring were Matt Linders 47, Jacob Sigg 48 and Ryian Sandifer 50. Non-counting scores were Nate Linders 53 and Tate Niebrugge 68.

Vandalia's scoring came from Alec Schroeder 46, Scott Shulman 48, Nathaniel Weaver 52 and Levi Cox 54. Non-counting scores were Bryce Dunn 61 and Conner Satterwhite 64.

Cisne had two golfers competing, Jordan Hosick with a 38 and Russell Hilliard with a 53.

Junior varsity scores for the Hearts were Tommy Hotenstine 51, Aiden Beck 51, Austin Waldhoff 55, Colby Heaton 60 and Clayton Florida 78.

The Hearts are now 1-0 while Vandalia is 3-4.

 

At Shelbyville

Effingham St. Anthony tallied a triangular meet win in boys golf at Fox Prairie Golf Course.

The Bulldogs scored a 155 followed by Okaw Valley 174 and Shelbyville 188. LSA had three players scoring and Mitch Cremer was medalist with a 35.

Scoring for St. Anthony were Luke Ludwig 36, Dylan Ferguson 36, Niko Dust 41 and Nathan Schultz 42. Non-counting scores were Jacob Schmidt 44 and Trey Koester 51.

Scoring for Okaw Valley were Austin Harshman 41, Cameron Nickerson 42, Tanner Coleman 45 and Trey Yarnell 46. Non-counters were Case Crawford 47 and Ethan Macklin 48.

Scoring for Shelbyville were Daythan Summers 46, Will Leach 46, Payton Howell 48 and Kyle Stauser 48. Non-counting scores were Owen Ray 54 and Drew Metzger 56.

The other scorers for LSA were Dayton Pate 38 and Dalton Coon 69.

 

At Greenville

Teutopolis High School's Dylan Buenker was medalist with a 37 in a triangular boys meet Tuesday but the Wooden Shoes ended up with a second place finish in the triangular.

Hillsboro won with a 156 followed by T-town 169 and Greenville 199.

Also scoring for the Shoes were Christian Deters 41, Braydon Bushue 44 and Carter Jansen 47.
