Jason Day's wife, Ellie, suffered an allergic reaction Tuesday night following the PGA Championship's Champions Dinner, prompting a 911 call, a brief hospital stay and halted preparations for the final major of the year.

Jason Day, 28, was getting his first look at Baltusrol Golf Club on Wednesday because his own illness had disrupted his practice schedule.

"She's fine, everything was great, I had to call the paramedics over,'' Day said during a news conference. "She was kind of freaking out in the back of the bus, which is understandable, because she got all red. We were there until 2 o'clock in the morning, something like that. So I'm kind of running on E right now. She's fine now. We got a little bit of loss of sleep, but we're fine.''

Day, who won the PGA Championship a year ago at Whistling Straits, has been plagued by numerous health issues throughout this year. He had back spasms at the Dell Match Play Championship, yet went on to win the tournament just two weeks before the Masters -- where he had the flu. He had a cold at the U.S. Open at Oakmont, a rib injury scare two weeks ago at The Open and now another cold here, which kept him from playing a practice round Tuesday.

Nicklaus Opens Restaurant

Jack Nicklaus has found his next business venture: restaurants.

The 76-year-old golfing great opened up his first Golden Bear Grill in the Fort Lauderdale airport on Wednesday, and the restaurant features recipes from the cookbook written by his wife, Barbara.

Nicklaus said putting his famous trademark on restaurants was a natural progression. In recent years, he's put his name on lemonade, wine and ice cream.

"This is something that will go beyond our lifetimes, as most of my brands will," Nicklaus said. "Not many people will recognize Jack Nicklaus, but the Golden Bear will be there for a long time."

The deal was born out of a relationship with Boston Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs, who also owns food-service company Delaware North. The two met when Jacobs became a founding member of The Bear's Club in Jupiter, Florida, which opened in 1999.

The 2,800-square-foot restaurant has a capacity of 100 and will have a golfing feel. The fare will be comfort food, including Barbara's meatloaf. Travelers can also order Jack's Favorite Greens, a salad with smoked bacon and sweet-and-sour dressing, and for dessert may choose an order of Buckeyes -- chocolate-covered peanut butter balls -- which are a favorite in Ohio, where Nicklaus grew up and went to college (Ohio State).
