Effingham St. Anthony captured the championship of the Class 1A Robinson Boys Golf Regional Tuesday at Quail Creek Country Club.

The Bulldogs tallied a 329 followed by Teutopolis 334, Robinson 358, Altamont 366, Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 381, Flora 387, Oblong 401, Vandalia 403, Ramsey 409, Marshall 411 and Casey-Westfield 426.

"We claimed our 10th straight IHSA Class 1A Regional," said St. Anthony Coach Phil Zaccari. "Senior Jared Hutchison shot a steady 78 to claim second place individually followed by junior Niko Dust whose 80 was good enough for third place.

"We played a pretty decent round of golf today. Jared had one bad hole but recovered very well to lead us. Niko just played solid, staying out of trouble. Jeff and Luke also struck the ball well and were real close to breaking 80 as well if a couple of putts fall instead of hanging on the lip. We are very happy with this result but are far from satisfied. We know we left a lot of strokes on the course today, so hopefully, our best golf is still ahead of us."

Hutchinson tallied a 40-38 -- 78 while Dust had  38-42 -- 80.  Also scoring were Jeff Niebrugge 42-43 -- 85 and Luke Ludwig 43-43 -- 86. Non-counting scores were Mitchell Sager 47-50 -- 97 and Jacob Schmidt 49-50 -- 99. Niebrugge finished tied for eighth while Ludwig was 12th.
