EHS Girls, T-town Boys Capture Golf Victories

PANA -- With two players shooting in the 40's, Effingham High School nabbed a girls golf match over host Pana Thursday, 187-230.

Alex Brummer picked up medalist honors with a 42 while teammate Keira Hirtzel added a 44. Also scoring were Madison Weis with a 50 and Kaylee Tonn with a 51. Non-counting scores were Hope Collier 55 and Abbi Burgess 61.

Scoring for the Panthers were Teagan Strom 50, Rebeca Miller 54, Anna Osborn 62 and Josie Pauley 64. Non-counters were Hannah Leduc 70 and Elizabeth Epley 72.

 

At Mattoon

Effingham St. Anthony finished second in a girls triangular at the Mattoon Country Club Thursday. Charleston won the meet with a 177 while the Bulldogs had a 204 and Mattoon a 243.

Charleston's Lauren Chappel was medalist with a 38. Other scorers were Morgan Sherwood 41, Paige Chappell 45 and Ally O'Dell 53. Non-counting was Hayley Walker 57.

Scoring for St. Anthony were Ava Wegman 48, Abbie Schmidt 51, Clare McHugh 52 and Kyla Burton 53.

Mattoon was led by Kaylee Nottmeyer with a 57, Natalie Zimmer 59, Cassi Dow 59 and Alyssa Nichols 68. Non-counters were Haleigh Miller 66 and Hannah Retzer 72.

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis played host to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg and Casey-Westfield at the Effingham Country Club in boys competition. 

The Wooden Shoes won with a 167 followed by Windsor/Stew-Stras 197 and Casey-Westfield 221.

Scoring for T-town were Christian Deters 37, Keegan Meyer 42, Mat Weber 43 and Austin Weber 45. Not counting were Dylan Buenker 46 and Braydan Bushue 50.

 

At Findlay

Okaw Valley tallied a 172 while Altamont finished with a 188 in competition Thursday at Eagle Creek Resort.

Medalist was Okaw Valley's Cameron Nickerson with a 39. Also scoring were Tanner Coleman 40, Drew Fruchtl 43 and Connor Cloyd 50. Non-counters were Austin Harshman 53 and Ian Tiarks 54.

Scoring for Altamont were Cameron  Jackman 46, Adam Mayhaus 47, Logan Deadmond 47 and Grant Schmidt 48. Non-counters were Luke Behl 49, Dylan Miller 50, Austin Wendling 55, Noah Kopplin 56 and Logan Sims 62.

The Indians are now 12-5 on the season while Okaw Valley improves to 14-16.
