CHARLESTON -- Effingham High School got revenge for a defeat at the hands of Charleston earlier in the season by scoring a 162 to the Trojans 169 in boys golf action Tuesday.
"The boys bounced back from an earlier defeat by gutting it out tonight," said EHS Coach Jeff Schafer. "Anthony Lechman got off to a really good start to shoot his 38. But I'm most proud of Jackson Wendling and Reed Schafer's efforts. Jackson was three-over-par after his first rhee holes and played the last six holes at two-under. Reed had his best varsity score of the year and we really needed his 42 tonight. Brandon Dahnke also had a nice round as well."
Jackson Wendling was medalist in the meet with a 37 follwed by teammate Anthony Lechman with a 38. Also scoring for the Hearts were Reed Schafer with a 42 and Jake Linders with a 45.
Effingham improves to 8-2 while Charleston drops to 13-2.
