Effingham High School took part in the Mt. Zion Invitational Friday, taking fourth place honors.

Coach Jeff Schafer said, "For the third year in a row, we were able to have two teams place for the individual awards. Jacob (Sigg) and Matt (Linders) had the toughest assignment playing alternate shot; they came within five to six shots of our goal. Callaway (Smith) and Ryan (Sandifer) played great last year in better ball, so they played together again and turned in a great performance, winning with a score of 69. Reed (Schafer) and Michael (Woltman), our two seniors and best of friends, got to play together and they played very well, finishing second in the scramble with a score of 74."

Coach Schafer said, "We have two weeks to start playing our best as the regional is going to be here in no time."
