EHS Takes Third at Olney Girls Golf Invitational

OLNEY -- Effingham High School captured third place in the Olney Girls Golf Invitational Wednesday.

Charleston claimed the championship with 163 followed by Mount Carmel 176, Effingham 188, Salem 192, Mattoon 236 and Paris 251.

The Trojans' Lauren Chappell was medalist with a 35. Mount Carmel's Abby Leighty took second with a 39. Charleston's Morgan Sherwood finished third with a 42 while Effingham's Alex Brummer, who also had a 42, took fourth. Two other players tallied 42s, Charleston's Ailsinn Parish and Salem's Megan Gallatin.

Also scoring for the Hearts were Kaylee Tonn with a 45, Hope Collier with a 49 and Keira Hirtzel with a 52. Non-counting scores were Abbi Burgess and Lindsey Stephenson with a 62 each.
