PARIS -- Effingham High School tallied a 315 to claim the championship of the Paris Boys Golf Invitational Saturday.
"This was a great win for our team today," said EHS Coach Jeff Schafer. "This is the first tournament win for our golf program in a long time, maybe ever. Anthony Lechman overcame two double bogeys and hung in there and played great, winning the tournament on the first playoff hole.
"Jackson was solid again finishing fifth and Jake and Anthony had good rounds of 81 and 84. This is the second year in a row our team has had the individual championship. I am real proud of the kids' efforts."
