WINDSOR -- The Effingham St. Anthony boys' golf team dominated the field at the Windsor Invitational shooting a 305 to take the title Saturday.

St. Anthony was followed by Teutopolis 347, Maroa-Forsyth 348, Shelbyville 358, Hillsboro 365, Mattoon JV 369, Okaw Valley 379, Sullivan 386, Altamont 387, Putnam County 390, Nokomis 418, Arcola 463 and Villa Grove 496.

Seniors Joe Powell and Jack Niebrugge tied for medalist honors shooting two-over-par 73s with Powell winning the sudden-death playoff after five holes.

“As a team we played pretty well today,” said Coach Phil Zaccari, “Angus Links was
again in great shape and the weather was ideal. Joe and Jack really got things going for us.
And it was fun watching them play the playoff as neither one wanted to lose.

"Sophomore Connor Greene played solid except for a couple double bogies he was steady to break 80 and senior Cole Buehnerkemper did his job very well posting a solid 80 for our fourth score. From tee to green we were again very good and though our putting was better, we still missed too many short ones. We will continue to work on that aspect of the game these next few weeks.

"Overall it was a good day for St. Anthony as our girls team also won their division,” concluded Zaccari.

The Bulldogs picked up the girls victory with a 375 followed by Auburn 436, Teutopolis 447 and Sullivan 545.

St. Anthony's Miranda Rohlfing was medalist with a 83 while teammate Mariah Bushue took second with a 94. Madison Bushue was tied for third with a 95 and the other scorer was Kyla Burton with a 103. Non-scorer was Bailey Weishaar with a 115.
