St. A JV Squad Competes at Decatur; Newton Varsity Falls To Olney

DECATUR -- Effingham St. Anthony traveled to Hickory Point Golf Course in Decatur Wednesday to square off against host Decatur St. Teresa and Hartsburg-Emden.

St. Teresa won the match with a 173 total followed by St. Anthony 183 and Hartsburg-Emden 206. St. Teresa captured the top two spots as Donovan Resch scored a 39 while teammate Jordan Lankaitis had a 42. St. Anthony's Nick Wortman was third with a 43.

Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Kyle Britton 44, Jared Hutchison 48 and Nate Schmidt 48.

At Olney

In varsity action Wednesday, Newton dropped a match at Olney. The Tigers tallied a 167 while Newton had a 190.

Olney's Joshua Haussy was medalist for the event with a 37. Scoring for Newton were Phil Blank 43, Elijah Knepper 48, Brandon Bigard 50 and Evan Brooks 51.
