Effingham High School opened the regular portion of its boys golf season with a quadrangular victory at Meadowview Golf Course Wednesdsay.

Effingham scored a 151 followed by Mattoon 166, Shelbyville 176 and Windsor 180. Medalist was Effingham's Anthony Lechman with a 34. Runnerup was Effingham's Jackson Wendling with a 36. Also scoring for the Hearts were Anthony Barrett with a 40 and Jake Linders with a 41.

"This was as good start to our regular season," said EHS Coach Jeff Schafer. "Anthony Lechman and Jackson Wendling finshed first and second with 34 and 36. Anthony played an awesome nine holes and really could have gone lower. Anthony Barrett and Jake Linders added two more solid scores for a good 151 total. This gave us a look at Meadowview for our upcoming tournament."
