(Paramus, NJ) -- Hunter Mahan fired a six-under 65 on Sunday to capture The Barclays at Ridgewood Country Club in New Jersey. Mahan withstood a bogey on the 18th to end a 48-tournament winless drought, a stretch that spanned over two years.
It was the sixth victory of his career and assures him of a spot in the Tour Championship. Stuart Appleby matched Mahan's final round score and finished two shots back in a three-way tie for second. Cameron Tringale and Jason Day shared second with Appleby. Ernie Els, William McGirt and Matt Kuchar were all at 11-under and in a tie for fifth.
