Chargers Upset Bengals In First Round

(Cincinnati, OH) -- The Chargers forced four turnovers en route to a 27-10 upset win over the Bengals in the Wild Card round of the AFC playoffs at Paul Brown Stadium. Philip Rivers finished 12-of-16 for 128 yards and a touchdown, while Ronnie Brown ran for 77 yards including a 58-yard TD with 2:27 to go that sealed the victory for San Diego.  Danny Woodhead added 54 yards and a score on the ground for the Bolts, who will battle the Broncos in the divisional round next Sunday in Denver. The Chargers racked up 196 rushing yards as a team.  Andy Dalton was 29-of-51 for 334 yards and a TD, but had two interceptions and a fumble for the Bengals, who haven't won a playoff game since 1991.  Marvin Jones had eight catches for 130 yards and Jermaine Gresham had seven grabs for 64 yards and a score in defeat.


Dawson Lifts 49ers Past Packers

(Green Bay, WI)  --  Phil Dawson nailed a game-winning 33-yard field goal as time expired to lift the 49ers past the Packers 23-20 in the Wild Card round of the NFC playoffs at frigid Lambeau Field.  The temperature at kickoff was five-degrees with a wind chill of negative-10.  Colin Kaepernickthrew for 227 yards with a touchdown and an interception and also ran for a game-high 98 yards on seven carries.  Frank Gore added 66 yards and a score on 20 carries for San Francisco, which will travel to Carolina to play the Panthers in the divisional round next Sunday.  Michael Crabtree had eight catches for 125 yards and Vernon Davis had a TD catch in the victory.  Aaron Rodgers finished 17-of-26 for just 177 yards and a TD for the Packers, who got into the playoffs as the NFC North winner with an 8-7-and-1 record.  Jordy Nelson had seven grabs for 62 yards and a score and John Kuhn scored on the ground in defeat.


Bears' Mills Undergoes Foot Surgery

(Chicago, IL)  --  Bears right tackle Jordan Mills underwent foot surgery on Friday.  General manager Phil Emery revealed that Mills suffered a fractured fifth metatarsal in his left foot.  It's expected that Mills will be ready for the offseason program in the third week of April.
