Sooners Sink Tide In Sugar Bowl

(New Orleans, LA) -- Third-ranked Alabama had a chance to tie it with under a minute left, but a strip-sack for a touchdown led number-11 Oklahoma to a 45-31 victory at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. Trevor Knight threw for 348 yards, four touchdowns and an interception for the Sooners, who won their fourth bowl game in the last five seasons to close out the campaign at 11-2. Lacoltan Bester had six catches for 105 yards and a score while Jalen Saunders recorded five receptions for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win. Sterling Shepard rushed for and caught a TD for OU. AJ McCarron tossed for 387 yards, two scores and two picks for the Crimson Tide, who had won the previous two BCS National Championships and four straight bowl games. Derrick Henry had a 61-yard receiving touchdown to go with a game-high 100 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground for 'Bama, which ends the season with two straight losses and at 11-2.


Tigers Set For Cotton Bowl

(Arlington, TX) -- Missouri takes on former Big 12 rival Oklahoma State tonight in the Cotton Bowl. The Tigers and Cowboys have played each other 51 previous times with Mizzou winning 28 of those games. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. from AT&T Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
