Tucker's Six Field Goals Push Ravens Over Lions
(Detroit, MI) -- Justin Tucker booted six field goals, including a 61-yarder with 38 seconds to play to send the Ravens to an 18-16 win over the Lions at Ford Field. Tucker's foot provided all of the offense for Baltimore, which improved to 8-and-6 and moved into the sixth and final playoff position in the AFC. Joe Flacco threw for 222 yards while Jacoby Jones made six catches for 80 yards. The Ravens also control their own destiny to win the AFC North going into the final two weeks of the season. Matthew Stafford threw for 235 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted three times, including once on Detroit's final drive. Reggie Bush ran for 86 yards with a touchdown and Calvin Johnson had six grabs for 98 yards, but the Lions fell to 7-7 and to third place in the NFC North.
Bears Divided On Cutler Decision
(Lake Forest, IL) -- Bears players publicly backed Marc Trestman's decision to start Jay Cutler over Josh McCown Sunday, but not all are doing so privately. ESPN reports that some players were against the move. The defense was reportedly frustrated with Cutler's struggles in practice last week.
Bears cornerback Charles Tillman won't play the rest of the season. "Peanut" has been out with a triceps injury since last month and coach Marc Trestman says he has not progressed enough to return, even if the Bears make the playoffs. Tillman is on injured reserve.
The Bears are turning the page after Sunday's big win over the Browns. Chicago now sits in control in its playoff push after the Lions lost to the Ravens Monday night. The Bears are 8-and-6 heading into this week's road game against the Eagles.
Rams Return To Practice Wednesday
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Rams get back to practice Wednesday as they prepare for Sunday's home finale against the Buccaneers. The Rams held off the Saints for a 27-16 win this past Sunday, improving to 4-3 at home and 6-8 overall. Tampa Bay lost 33-14 at home to San Francisco to fall to 4-10.
