Eastern Illinois remained No. 2 in both FCS football polls this week after the Panthers clinched at least a share of the Ohio Valley Conference title with a 37-17 win over Murray State. EIU improved to 9-1, 6-0 in the OVC.

Eastern Illinois will face No. 22 Jacksonville State this Saturday at 12 p.m. on ESPN3. Tickets are available by calling 217-581-2106 or online at www.eiupanthertickets.com

Two teams in the top five suffered losses last week as North Dakota State and Eastern Illinois remained unchanged at the top of both polls ranked first and second by the Sports Network and FCS Coaches Top 25 polls. NDSU received all 156 first place votes in the Sports Network poll and all 26 first place votes in the FCS Coaches poll. The Bison are 9-0 and join Fordham (10-0) as the two remaining unbeaten teams in the FCS.

Eastern Washington moved up to third in both polls followed by Sam Houston State in fourth and Fordham in fifth.  Mine was sixth in both polls.

The Sports Network and FCS Coaches poll differed slightly in the remaining ranked teams. Jacksonville State and Princeton joined as new teams in both rankings. JSU was 22nd in the Sports Network and 23rd in the FCS Coaches. Princeton was 25th and 24th in those rankings.
