MARSHALL -- Newton High School scored in the opening quarter and went on for a 20-13 victory over  Marshall Friday evening in football action.

The Eagles' first touchdown was a hand-off from Drake Wolf to Quincy Fulton who went in from the 22-yard line. Henry Will kicked the extra point.

Newton went up 14-0 with a touchdown in the second quarter. Hayden Mulvey handed the ball off to Wolf who went in from the 13-yard line. Will again kicked the extra point.

Marshall came back within 14-7 at halftime on a seven yard run by Trey Scott. Hampton Parker kicked the extra point.

In the third quarter, Newton added another touchdown. Wolf ran in from the 10-yard line. The kick after missed.

Marshall tallied in the fourth quarter. Scott hit Laim Keim with a 13-yard pass play. The extra point kick missed and that's where the scoring ended.

Mulvey completed 17 of 26 passes for 166 yards. Fulton had nine receptions for 85 yards while Wolf had four receptions for 40 yards.

Wolf ran the ball 16 times for 72 yards and two touchdowns while Fulton carried nine times for 52 yards and a touchdown.

Kohlten Barthelme had six solo tackles and two assists. Landen McClure and Dominic Baltzell had two solo tackles and four assists each.
