Newton High School pounded Lawrenceville by a 41-7 tally in Friday night football.

The Eagles edged out to a 7-0 opening quarter lead. Hayden Mulvey dropped back to the 50 and threw a pass completion to Quincy Fulton who carried the ball into the end zone for the touchdown. Henry Will kicked the extra point.

Newton came back with two touchdowns in the second quarter to lead 21-0 at halftime. The Eagles got to the four-yard line where Wolf went in for the touchdown. The point after kick was blocked.

The second score came as Mulvey dropped back to the 10 and threw a pass completion to Dexter Fulton for the score. The Eagles then went for the two-point conversion with a pass from Mulvey to D. Fulton.

Newton scored two touchdowns in the third quarter. Wolf hit Q. Fulton with a 37 yard pass completion for the score. Will kicked the extra point.

The second score came when Wolf ran the ball in from the 16-yard line. Will's kick was blocked.

The final tally came in the fourth quarter when Mulvey handed the ball off to David Ferguson who went in from the 23 yard-line for the touchdown. Will kicked the extra point and Newton led 34-0.

Lawrenceville finally scored in the fourth period. Isaac Vennard handed off to Connor Lill who ran the ball in from the 43-yard line. The extra point was good and that's where the scoring ended.

Newton finished with 16 first downs in the game. Mulvey connected on nine of 11 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns. Wolf hit one of two passes for 34 yards and a touchdown.

The Eagles' Wolf carried the ball 12 times for 81 yards and two touchdowns while Ferguson carried one time for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Owen Schackmann had four solo tackles, one assist and one sack. Landen McClure had three solo tackles, four assists and one sack. Kohlten Barthelme had three solo tackles and one assist.
