IHSFA To Induct High School Coaches Into HOF

The Illinois High School Football Coaches Association, in conjunction with its annual spring clinic, will induct a group of high school football coaches into its Hall of Fame.

The list includes active, retired, career and assistant coaches selected for their contributions to the profession and impact on the schools and communities where they have coached.

The coaches will be honored at a luncheon to be held at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign Saturday, March 23 at noon.

The luncheon will feature Bret Bielema, head football coach at the University of Illinois.

Price per lunch ticket is $40 and may be obtained by going to the ihsfca.com website or ticket info is available by emailing coachaldy@gmail.com.

The 2024 Hall of Fame inductees include:

Retired -- Darrell Crouch (Washington), Brian McDonough (Oak Forest), Larry Johnsen, Jr. (Geneseo) and Jason Karnes (Herrin)

Career -- Will Smith, Jr. (Chicago Julian)

Active -- Scott Horner (Columbia),  Mike Holmes (Leo), BJ Zeleznik (LeRoy), Darren Sunkett (East St. Louis), Mark Dodd (Bismarck-Henning), Mark Grounds (Jacksonville), Chad Hetlet (Glenbard  West), Tim Racki (Nazareth Academy) and Todd Hollis (Elmwood-Brimfield)

Assistant --  Larry Lokanc (Lincoln Way West)

2024 Ray Eliot Award Inductee -- Eric Tjarks.
