Mount Carmel Beats Newton, 49-7

Mount Carmel handed Newton a 49-7 loss in Friday high school football action.

The Golden Aces moved into a 21-0 opening quarter lead then had a 28-0 second period.

Newton's lone touchdown came in the third quarter. Max Meinhart handed off at the 27 yard line to Drake Wolf who took the ball into the end zone. Hayden Mulvey got the extra point kick.

Mulvey carried the ball for 47 yards while Wolf garnered 49 yards and Meinhart 46 yards.

Meinhart hit six of 22 passes for 46 yards. Gus Bierman caught three passes for 30 yards.

Defensively, Landen McClure had two solo tackles and three assists. Dexter Fulton and Meyer Tarr had three solo tackles each. Evan Zumbahlen had two solo tackles and one assist.
