EHS Football Players, Cheerleaders Honored

EHS varsity football awards went to, left to right, John Westendorf, Michael Love, Tanner Pontious, Weldon Dunston, Brady Stortzum, Gaige Gillum, London Rinkel, Logan Heil, Connor Thompson, Jacob Foster, Evan Waymoth and Armando Estrada.
Effingham High School football players and cheerleaders were honored Monday evening with an awards banquet at the Hearts Rock Cafe.
Winning varsity football awards were Evan Waymoth and Connor Thompson with the George Wenthe Sportsmanship award, Gaige Gillum and Brady Stortzum with the Jack Klosterman "Hang Tough" award, Michael Love with the Chris Hutts Bandit and Defensive Most Valuable Player awards, Jacob Foster with the Lineman of the Year, Tanner Pontious with the Offensive Most Valuable Player award, Logan Heil with the Defensive Most Valuable Player award, Armando Estrada with the Special Teams Most Valuable Player and Weldon Dunston and London Rinkel with the Varsity Most Improved awards.

The freshman Hustle award went to DJ Latham. Winning the sophomore Hustle award was Kayden Mietzner. The freshman Bandit award went to Wade Bushur while the sophomore Bandit award went to Max Seachrist. The freshman Little Big Man award went to Hayden Wendling.
Cheerleading awards and letters were handed out.
The Most Improved Cheerleader awent to Alyssa McGregor. Winning the Outstanding Cheerleader award was Kayla Smith. The Most Spirited award went to Isabella Harkins while the Leadership award went to Madison Papa.
Cheerleading letters went to Madison Papa, MaKenzie Smith, Kayla Smith, Haylie Cameron, Isabella Harkin-Albin, Lainey Walls and Alyssa McGregor.
