Chicago Public League (CPL) and Illinois High School Association (IHSA) history will be made Thursday, September 15 as two black female head coaches will coach against each other in boys varsity football for the first time in Illinois athletic history.

Head coaches Konesha Rhea (DuSable) and Jousecelyn Mayfield (Fenger) will be on opposing sidelines in this Chicago Public League Blue Southeast Division regular season contest at Gately Stadium in Chicago on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.

The significance of the game is not lost on these coaches as they vie for their first victory of the season while trying to rebuild their football programs from the ground up.
