Hall of Fame quarterback Len Dawson, who led the Kansas City Chiefs to the Super Bowl IV championship in 1970, died on Wednesday. He was 87.

Dawson, who spent 14 years with the Chiefs as a player and 33 years as a broadcast analyst, was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame as both a player and a broadcaster.

Chiefs Chairman Clark Hunt said, "The franchise has lost a true legend."

Many Dawson's franchise records stood until current Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes began breaking them.
