Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Deandre Hopkins was suspended without pay for six games by the NFL Monday after he tested positive for a banned performance-enhancing substance.

Hopkins said on social media that he was “confused and shocked,” saying, “I am very mindful of what I put in my body . . . so I am working with my team to investigate how this could’ve happened. . . . I apologize to Cardinals fans, my teammates, and the entire Cardinals organization.”

No Evidence Against Browns

The NFL said Monday that an independent review found “no evidence” that the Cleveland Browns purposely lost games or incentivized personnel to do so, as former Browns head coach Hue Jackson claimed.

Jackson, who had a 3-36-1 record in two-plus seasons for Cleveland before he was fired halfway through the 2018 season, alleged in February that Cleveland tried to lose in the 2016 and 2017 seasons at the direction of owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam.
