Legendary broadcaster Al Michaels is leaving NBC Sports  to join Amazon and be lead commentator for its new ‘Thursday Night Football’ package, the ‘New York Post’ reported Monday.

Michaels will be paid in the “Joe Buck neighborhood” to join Amazon, according to the report.

Buck recently left Fox for ESPN to become the lead commentator for ‘Monday Night Football,’ and is being paid $75 million over five years. 

 

Colts Acquire Matt Fryan

The Indianapolis Colts acquired quarterback Matt Fryan from the Atlanta Falcons Monday for a third-round pick in this year’s draft, and the Falcons replaced Ryan by signing free agent Marcus Mariota to a two-year deal.

The 37-year-old Ryan, the 2016 NFL MVP, has spent his entire 14-year career with the Falcons. The 28-year-old Mariota spent the past two seasons as backup to the Las Vegas Raiders’ Derek Carr.

 

Meyer's Stint Was "Toxic"

Urban Meyer’s brief 13-game stint as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars this past season was described by multiple people as a “toxic” environment, ‘The Athletic’ reported Monday.

The report includes accounts of Meyer belittling staff and players, regularly threatening to fire them, and in one case blasting a player so harshly he cried.

The report also said Meyer wasn’t famliar with some of the best players in the NFL. Meyer was fired soon after the ‘Tampa Bay Times’ reported he’d kicked kicker Josh Lambo.
