Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley was suspended Monday for at least next season after he bet on NFL games

A league investigation found Ridley bet on NFL games over a five-day period last November when he was away from the team dealing with mental health concerns.
Ridley didn’t seem to be too upset, tweeting, “I know I was wrong but I’m getting 1 year lol,” and “Just gone be more healthy when I come back.”

‘Sports Illustrated’ reported he bet via a legal gambling app, and that he did bet on the Falcons, but only for them to win.

Bucs' Sherman Pleads Guilty

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Richard Sherman pled guilty to two misdemeanor charges Monday related to a drunken driving and domestic disturbance incident, part of a deal that spares him further jail time.

Sherman was arrested July 14 after police said he crashed his SUV in a construction zone and tried to break into his in-laws’ suburban Seattle home.

Sherman told the court in Seattle Monday, “I’m grateful for the community we have and the way people continue to accept you even though you’re a flawed human being and made a mistake.”
