Tom Brady, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, has officially announced his retirement from the National Football League.

He announced he would not be "making the competitive commitment anymore."

Brady, 44 years old, has been in the NFL for 22 years. He won seven Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots and Buccaneers, the most by any player in NFL history. He also captured five Super Bowl Most Valuable Player awards and won three NFL MVP awards.

Along with Super Bowl records, he has the most pass yards in NFL history in the regular season with 84,520 and most wins as a starting quarterback with 219. He's the only player in NFL history to throw for more than 70,000 yards and 500 touchdowns with one franchise.

He holds or shares 40 NFL records.

 

Higbee Status In Question

The status of the L.A. Rams’ top tight end,Tyler Higbee is in question for the Super Bowl after he suffered an MCL sprain during Sunday’s NFC title game, head coach Sean McVay said Monday.

Higbee left the game against the San Francisco 49ers in the first half with the Rams saying he had a knee injury. McVay said Monday, “We’re going to do everything in our power to try to get this guy back and ready to go.”

 

Raiders Introduce New Coach Josh McDaniels

The Las Vegas Raiders introduced Josh McDaniels as their new head coach Monday. This is the second stint as a head coach for McDaniels, after leading the Denver Broncos in the 2009 and ‘10 seasons, fired after the third week in his second season.

He said Monday of that experience, “I didn’t really know people and how important that aspect of this process and maintaining the culture and building the team was. . . . Looking at that experience has been one of the best things in my life in terms of my overall growth as a person, as a coach.”
McDaniels was with New England as an offensive coordinator since 2012.
