The Effingham Hearts will host the Charleston Trojans in their home opener Friday night. It'll be Homecoming at EHS with the court to be introduced at halftime.
Game time is 7pm at Klosterman Field. Hear the action on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com.
Effingham and Charleston both won their season openers last Friday; Effingham defeating Mahomet-Seymour 21-7 with a big second half offensive output, and Charleston shutting out Lincoln 54-0.
The Hearts' game last week was scoreless at halftime, and the Effingham defense kept Mahomet-Seymour off the scoreboard until there was less than 30 seconds left in the game.
Nate Thompson threw for more than 120 yards for Effingham, while Chase Woomer rushed for more than 150 yards with a touchdown.
Cory Spour was the star on offense for Charleston, rushing for 162 yards and two touchdowns.
We will videotape the contest; watch for it online later in the weekend.
